My primary research background and training is in neuromuscular
physiology. Over the last 5-10 years I have been focused on applying
this research to special populations, in the context of exercise
rehabilitation. I have been involved in studies on the role of
exercise in aging populations and in people with mobility
impairments, specifically those with spinal cord injury. The efficacy
of body-weight supported treadmill training as a method to improve a
variety of health-related outcomes in people with spinal cord injury
is a current area of research focus.
