Re: BRAIN AWARENESS MONTH (March, 1998) and NEUROSCIENCE POSTER EXHIBIT, Wednesday, MARCH 11

You will shortly be receiving a package in the mail outlining the events for Brain Awareness Week, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of our local Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (SFN).

This year we have combined the Annual meeting, the Grass Lecture and a Poster exhibit to highlight neuroscience in Manitoba and to create an event for the U of M campus.

On March 11, 1998 the event day will include:

12:00 AGM
1:00 Grass lecture from Dr. Ronald Oppenhiemer
2:00-5:00 Poster Viewing and Reception

We invite you to be part of this special day by displaying a poster of your recent neuroscience work. The poster session will provide an informal opportunity for labs, students and programs to inform the rest of us about local progress in neuroscience. We encourage everyone's participation and suggest displaying a poster presented at a recent meeting (e. g. SFN). March 11 will be an opportunity to see each others' work in poster form and chat with colleagues.

The posters will be on display all day in the Brodie Center foyer (Atrium). The media will be invited to attend and interview poster presenters from 2:00-5:00. We are hoping to have Premier Filmon make an announcement regarding the Neurotrauma Fund at the poster viewing and reception. The success of this day is very dependent on a good display of posters.  We need to know how many poster boards are needed and how much floor space to set aside. Please reply by email ASAP with the information on the form below. Exact poster display board size, time up and down and stand-by time will follow your reply.

Meanwhile, check out all the events on our website at http://www.scrc.umanitoba.ca/wcsn/baw98/, and the web sites advertised in the mail out to follow.
